Floor maintenance

Does your floor need saving?

Posted in Community

Just like anything in your facility, your flooring needs attention and maintenance to assure that it stays in top condition. We can sometimes forget about it, but it’s one of the main features in your facility that will get the most wear and tear from daily foot traffic and the movement of any furniture.

It’s important every now and then to take a minute to properly look at the quality of your flooring no matter what type it is. If you can see that your floor is looking worn and faded, or there are multiple stains and scratches it may be time to look into getting some much needed maintenance on to it.

Depending on the type of flooring you have different maintenance and care is required. Here are a few things to look out for:Floor replacement

  • Water damage
  • Damage to the subfloor
  • Too old
  • Dirty and mouldy tiles
  • Scratches and stains
  • Dirty and frayed carpets

Some helpful tips to keep your floors in good condition even after installment:

Vinyl

Be gentle by cleaning with a soft brush, using a vacuum cleaner on a low or gentle setting and regular cleaning of water and only natural detergents.

Laminate

You should wipe the floor with a damp mop paired with laminate cleaning products to keep it fresh and clean. Dry off with a dry mop or cloth.
