North Queensland State School – Courtyard Upgrade

Project Details

Location
North Queensland, QLD, AUS
Size
Approx. 875 m²
Timeframe
16 weeks

We transformed two worn, uneven paved courtyards at a North Queensland State School into green, all-weather outdoor spaces for students and staff, working for the Department of Education.

The work covered demolishing around 840 m² of old pavers, concrete furniture and garden beds, then re-grading both areas so they finally drain properly. We installed about 100 lineal metres of new kerb, channel, concrete invert and grated drainage to the engineer’s design, laid approximately 875 m² of synthetic turf over a compacted base, poured a new reinforced staff breakout slab, and installed nine in-ground table settings and park benches.

The whole project was delivered over 16 weeks while the school stayed open, with daily safety and quality checks recorded every working day. One contractor and one point of contact, from demolition to handover.
