Regular landscape maintenance is important for healthy plants and trees. In addition, it creates a visually appealing curb appeal in the front. You’ll enjoy spending time outdoors with your loved ones on a beautiful lawn. Also, well-kept lawns have higher resale value.

Synthetic grass cost varies depending on its colour, density, shape and complexity. For your reference, it typically costs between:

As a rule of thumb, it is best to check your grass weekly. Debris, such as dried leaves and excess mud, must be raked or brushed with a soft-headed brush to avoid clogging your drainage system.

Have a monthly clean-up to kill bacteria and prevents anything from growing on the turf using artificial grass cleaner. To prolong the lifespan of your synthetic grass, have regular grass maintenance.

Artificial grass typically costs $5.50 to $18.75 per square foot, for an average price of $12.33 per square foot.

Homeowners typically spend between $3,918 to $10,539 to build a deck. However, patio installation usually costs less, ranging between $2,363 and $5,909.

Yes! The best way to quickly clean artificial grass is through power washing the turf. However, you must pick up solids such as pet feces before power washing. Consider removing the seeds on the turf, as they can grow into weeds.

We recommend going for a pile height of between 30 – 37mm for a lush look. Anything higher than this will give you flat-looking grass.

You can definitely put new soil on top of the bark if the bark is thin, aerated and fresh. To promote drainage and nutrition to the seeds and plants on the upper layer, you can place a 1/2 to 1-inch layer of soil over the bark.

You don’t necessarily need to remove old mulch because it gradually breaks down, contributing beneficial nutrients and other organic matter to the soil.

The best time to mulch is mid to late spring. It gives the soil a chance to warm.

The popular mulch in the south is pine needles or pine “straw” because it is lightweight and natural. In addition, they tend to stand still and not wash away even during heavy rain.

To top your lawn successfully, you must consider the material and soil composition. You can use sand, finely screened compost, topsoil, or a combination of these options.

The best way to repair a lawn is by adding soil over grass. You can add soil over the top and prepare it for sod or seed. Just make sure you’re putting a thick soul to kill existing weeds underneath, or you need to use herbicide or rent a sod stripper to do the job.

The most robust and most durable choice for retaining walls is poured concrete. It is the only retaining wall type that isn’t built to be battered against the earth, which is useful for small spaces.

A 4-foot-high, 15-foot-long wall could be holding back as much as 20 tons of saturated soil.

The four basic types of retaining walls include:

1. Gravity Retaining Wall – uses sheer mass and weight to hold the soil at bay.
2. Cantilevered Retaining Wall – uses a retaining wall affixed to a slab foundation that goes under the soil the wall supports in an “L” shape.
3. Sheet Piling Retaining Wall – a thin wall of steel, wood, or vinyl driven directly into the soil.
4. Anchored Retaining Wall – allows for various “fronts” of retaining walls to be supported by anchors driven into the earth behind them and attached by cables or strips.

Here the different retaining wall height standards:

• Australian Capital Territory: 40cm
• Queensland: 100cm
• New South Wales: 100cm
• South Australia: 20cm
• Tasmania: 100cm
• Victoria: 100cm
• Western Australia: 50cm

The 1/3 rule means you want to cut off the top one-third of your grass blades. Mowing beyond a third of the total height of your grass can stress the plant and make it more susceptible to serious turf problems.

The best time to mow your lawn is between March and October. Avoid early mornings, as this is the worst time of day to mow a lawn. Also, don’t mow a wet lawn because it can clog up and damage your mower.

Use a tractor mower or a walk-behind when doing grass on a slope. You can either mow up and down on a diagonal to reduce the possibility of slipping and rolling, or mow only uphill behind a walk-behind mower, then turn it off, walk down, and mow up again.

A triangular or three-sided shade sail is the most flexible because it can be arranged in some ways. As a result, it won’t be sagging or ballooning up. Also, installation is faster and simpler.

Sail shade made of HDPE material is breathable, allowing wind and rain to pass by without ruining the shade. However, while it can withstand heat, wind, and rain, they’re not equipped to protect you during a storm. On the other hand, PVC is less breathable, but it creates the perfect waterproof shade sails.

Depending on the weather in your area, a shade sail will probably last about eight to 10 years.

Consider the space you choose to cover and the attachment points for your sail. You will want to order a shade sail slightly smaller than the area you want to cover to avoid the sail from blowing around during winding weather.

It is recommended that the fixing height be at least 2.4m from the ground on 2 of the sides.
