These strange times have brought out a lot of sides to a lot of people and we have been fortunate enough to have had a lot of good.

It’s not often you have spare time, but when NRL player Jai Arrow was itching for some turf time his mate Ben Mathiou roped him into prepping and laying turf instead, at a local Childcare centre in Benowa.

“He offered me $50, which I’ve yet to see” Jai jokes to cameras.

Jai, who is in lockdown due to COVID-19 but is hoping to go ahead the midst of completing his Plumbing apprentice has had a long time relationship with Jamie and Sjaan Mathiou – owners of Mathiou Services through their son, Ben Mathiou who have been best friends since they were young.

Staying connected, staying mentally and physically healthy during this period is a priority for any athlete who would normally be in competition mode with professional games every weekend.
